Modern HIV/AIDS Centers
Three modern HIV/AIDS centers in each Department of Haiti
The health of the Haitian people ranks as the worst in the hemisphere. Haiti has the worst malnutrition, the highest rates of infant and maternal mortality, and the worst AIDS epidemic in the Americas. Many of those orphaned without physical disabilities have lost one or both of their parents to AIDS. Haiti has one of the highest rates of HIV / AIDS infection outside of Africa; an estimated 250 000 are living with the disease, according to WHO. In 2001, 30 000 Haitians died from AIDS: twice the number who succumbed to the disease in the US.
Infectious diseases, led by HIV and TB, are the major causes of adult mortality. Maternal mortality, largely due to obstructed labor and hemorrhage, is at 523 per 100,000 live births, compared to less than 20 per 100,000 in the United States and only 2 per 100,000 in Sweden.
How we can bring change in Haiti with such epidemic that spreading rapidly and extensively affecting many individuals. This is a war against our nation unless we retaliate with a great force we will not be able to talk about change for this country. It is imperative we need our youths and adults to contribute to bring change in Haiti; as a result, we cannot ignore this epidemical disease. This is the reason RUNHARDH wants to establish three modern HIV/AIDS centers in each Department with technician in every city, urban area and village to assist, educate and inform the population concerning this epidemic and provide free transportation to each HIV/AIDS Center for assistant.
