WHO WE ARE
The Union for National Reconciliation and Defense of Human Rights in Haiti, Inc. is a U.S. 501(c) (3) non-profit organization based in Florida. Donations are tax deductible and may be specified for any of the planned projects.
Our Board of Directors is comprised of Christians who are Haitian Americans, African Americans, and Hispanic Americans, and representatives of other American groups. We meet regularly and are working to generate additional support and participation to help our dreams and plans become reality, with God’s help and guidance. As Christians we believe our duties are not consist only fasting, praying and preaching the gospel; we realize also it is very important to put our faith in action. As a result, if we want change for our country we must combine faith and action to make it a reality.
Therefore, it should be an obligation for us as Christians to be involved in the development of our country. We have selected three specific target areas for our initial programs. We are adapting our priorities in coordination with other agencies to respond to the immediate and long-term needs related to the recent earthquake and its aftermath. As resources and capacity increase, we have a total of twelve priority areas for our work in Haiti, and we hope eventually to expand similar projects into the Dominican Republic where many Haitians are underserved and living in deplorable conditions.
